Happy Birthday, our sweet Heather!!

We've hijacked the blog in lieu of Heather's birthday and have a fun cyber birthday party game for everyone to play along with us.

(Since we can't quite be there to celebrate you on your birthday, Heather, we're taking advantage of this virtual world and celebrating cyber style.  We wish we could take you out to eat and shower you with presents, but this will have to do until you come back to see us in just 3 short weeks...and then we will make it up to you!)

The following video is super long...but feel free to join in and answer any of the questions we answered in the video...or just leave our girl some birthday love! If you've never introduced yourself before and you've been a long time lurker or even short term stalker...now's the time to out yourself (don't be too embarrassed....there are probably like 2,837 of you who come here to read everyday and still have never commented) and wish Heather a Happy Birthday or...in the spirit of thanksgiving, tell her why you're thankful for her blog.  You've got lots of options, people, so let's get rolling. Let's set a new comment record!

We love you, Heather!  And wish you the happiest of birthdays in Haiti!  Happy 34th!

(And thanks for all your help, Aaron! ;)

Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday, my sweet Heather!!! Happy Birthday to you!

I love you something crazy! These last 4 months has shown me just how much. I'll call you in a few hours (once you're awake!)

Oh...and I totally have several Heather-isms but we forgot to record them the day we filmed. I will act them out for you in person.

I think it's totally appropriate and fitting that your birthday is on THANKSGIVING. Wow! I can't believe I can "out" myself and be the first person on this blog to congratulate you.

Happy Birthday Heather. Thank you for sharing so much of yourself and the things you struggle with on your journey in Haiti. Thank you for making it real and not sugar coating it, while at the same time pointing us to the Author of Perfection. I check your blog first each day in my blog tour.

I think that the work you are doing with the Moms in Haiti is vital to the Kingdom.

Would love to meet you in person, and I know that someday we WILL, but it probably won't be here.

Happy Birthday Heather!! I still remember coming to yours and Aaron's Life Group not knowing anyone! And after talking to some people who were there I figured out that you were famous. Some of the ladies had found you online with Her Hands and came to New Life and our Life Group just for you! After spending a semester with your family and reading your blog while you're in Haiti, I can see why they would want to follow you. Have a happy Thanksgivng and birthday!

I am thankful for your love for our Father, your humor, your gift of writing, your dedication to servanthood, for your willingness to share your life with complete strangers like myself, for the passion to love others that you instill in me. Our Lord is using you to mentor me, and I am thankful that He has blessed me with someone with such a pure and honest heart to help prepare me for the work He has in store for me.

Happy birthday. I hope you have a fabulous day!

Happy Birthday Heather! I follow your blog regularly and its become such a blessing to me. I had to watch a little of the video and then I couldn't stop. So funny! I love your blog for so many reasons. Mostly I'm challenged with every post. Thank you for that.

I was so touched by your the sweet and funny stories from your friends. Made me miss my own. I live in Doha, Qatar far away from home (Houston). What a testimony of your friendships.

This post must have been an incredible boost. I'm sure you're looking forward to being in Texas for Christmas. Please know as you're on the front lines we are praying for you!

Have to add-My favorite skit goes way back-you and Aaron, and you were a fortune teller-you were chanting nonsense and then would throw in stuff like"ram-a-lam-a-ding-dong" I had to leave church cause I had the giggles and couldnt stop-i think most people laugh hard in your presence-
Best Memory-when you found out I was pregnant
And I might be on the top 10 list of first boobs you crammed in a babys mouth-
Ok-i will stop!

Hi Beautiful! I have missed you like crazy as well. You have challenged me more than anyone else I know, sometimes that has made me very mad. But I am so very grateful for that. You have seen me at my UGLIEST and walked me through some very difficult times in the short five years I have known you. I know that it's the grace of God that you still love me. My funniest memory with you, is that time we were making jelly and I was talking about what an emotional mess I had been. I was histerically crying just talking about it. You and Shannon just looked at each other, and cracked up laughing. I think you were in unison, when you said, "Girl, you are PREGNANT!". Nine months later, we were welcoming Emily. Thank you for challenging me to be transparent, in the freedom of the Lord, by your example. You are a beautiful woman and I know your thumbprint is visible in my home and marriage. Thank you for being you and pouring out your life as an offering. Your selfless sacrifice has inspired so many. Love you.

Happy Birthday, Heather! I, too, am a stalker/follower of your blog, and was completely sucked in by your perfect honesty. In the spirit of you (another way of saying "to be completely honest") reading your blog has helped me walk through the process of surrendering to adoption with my husband! I surrendered first and then patiently waited for him to come along with me. Now I am waiting as he listens for the Lord's direction on "when." Now or later. (I'm pulling for now, but trying not to force that one him!!) Anyway, I hope that you had a lovely birthday. I see by the video and comments that you are so incredibly loved. I hope that on the tough days, when you come across more questions than answers, that you always remember you at least have that to go back to. Your honest, humble faith is an inspiration to me and has taught me to be strong in my own leaps of faith with the Lord. Thank you for giving me that!

A very Happy Birthday to you Heather!!

I'm thankful that you followed God's voice to Haiti and are standing in the gap for women like Franswa, whom I only know and pray for because of your obedience. Long story short--our family longs to live in Haiti too, but at this time God continues to say "not yet". I don't understand why, but I trust He knows best. Until then, I live in Haiti vicariously through you and weep and rejoice alongside of you.

Happy Haiti Birthday, Heather! I know how much you LOVE alliteration, so I'll attempt a birthday "H" alliteration in honor of you.

How happy Hannah will be when her healthy and handsome friend, Anson, heralds home with his huge, huggable family! Haiti. Heather's Haiti. Our Haiti. How we hope to return to Haiti. Hectic, hard, helpless, yet hopeful.

I don't wander into blog land much anymore as my family and my responsibilities grow, but oh, how I long to sit and soak in all that you have to share with me.

I miss you, Heather. I love you. I pray for you.

Happy Birthday Heather. I hope you had a wonderful first birthday in Haiti. I am a lurker and have commented once or twice. I moved from Brenham 3 years ago and we share a few mutual friends. Oddly enough, I think we may even share a friend in Haiti.
Thank you for taking the time to write about your experiences in Haiti. I love reading how God is moving and working in Haiti.
Also, I received my purse box today from Heartline for my party!! The purses are beautiful and I cannot wait to share the story of Heartline with my friends.

I can't thank you enough for what you are doing for the Kingdom and for the way you lead me to the cross. I hope your birthday was incredibly blessed.
