If a Grandma would help, just holler.
Heather,I love your heart in all of this. I love adoption. I love that you care about orphans. Talking about buying babies, however joking, does not present a good picture about adoption. This is especially true in light of the fact that baby smuggling in developing problems for adoptions is a significant problem in many countries and can lead to delays and even adoptions stopping in those countries. I know it's just a word and meant to be funny, but I think it paints a picture of adoption that is not good.
Heather - I think you have my email (we've emailed about couponing), but if not - let me know - but do you have any information about reputable orphanages or organizations to contact about adopting from Haiti?I am pregnant with our first baby (due in July) and after reading your blog today went home to talk with my husband about adopting from Haiti. We've always talking about adopting "one day" but have never seriously considered it . . . until today. I just want to investigate and see where the Lord leads, but don't really know where to start. Thanks for sharing your heart here!
You know God will work miracles if it's meant to be Heather. I can't help but look at your sweet family photo and think about more babes being Hendricks. Praying for you all and loving your heart! Just saw the anonymous comment and know what you meant, money is the biggest reason that couples turn from adoption (I think they say almost 90% end up not adopting because of cost). It can be overwhelming, the cost of adoption, and it has to be discussed. Love you!
Great Laura! My friend Megan and I researched Haiti adoption today. I'll send you the links to the agencies that were reputable. And Molly...for real. Cost is the biggest issue for most couples. I know people know our hearts so I had to ignore that comment. Obviously, I'm not for "smuggling babies." When Aaron said find a good deal he meant it. From experience some agencies are a lot more expensive than others. Finding an agency that is affordable is a must for most families. We can't ignore cost and that it costs real money to bring babies home (especially from other countries.)Heather
Please keep us updated on what you find Heather. I would love to adopt from Haiti.
Funny how most controversial comments are usually anonymous. So, if you get another baby does that mean another move? Oh my gosh I don't know how you have moved so much and survived. We have been in our house almost a year and not one single picture has been hung b/c I'm still tired from moving! You must be like a super freaky good home setter-upper.
Ha! No. We don't have to move. I do want to move again down the road (to a farm). For real. How weird am I?And get this...Aaron is the real nazi about getting stuff hung up on the walls and unpacked. Cracks me up. Heather
Good you and Kirby are the queens of good deals!I sure do miss all you amazing College Station people!
